What We Do

We operate under five core objectives: 

1.  Support: Providing quality advice, brokerage of training and other services to our members and the wider Voluntary and Community Sector, VCS, who work at the frontline within neighbourhoods and communities. In real terms:

- Facility sharing, e.g. IT, photocopying, etc

- ICVS Meeting Room in the centre of Ipswich

2Development: identifying need, developing action, working strategically to benefit local voluntary & community sector

3.  Liaison: Maintaining links within the VCS, via ICVS newsletters, website, meetings and ad hoc forums. Promoting cross sector relationships with public sector organisations

4.  Enabling representation: As an independent non-party political organisation, enabling the local VCS to present its views to the local authority and other public agencies

5.  Strategic partnership: Enabling representation of the VCS in partnership working, planning and delivery, especially within the One Ipswich Partnership.
